webquest on Shakepseare

1. Shakespeare was born in April,1564.
2. Shakespeare had been associated with The Queen's Men, Pembroke's Men and Lord Strange's Men  acting companies
3. He composed “Much Ado About Nothing” and “As You Like It” in 1599 at the “Globe”
4. Some people say that he was not educated enough to write them down, others think that it could be another person who wrote all those plays.
 5. a) Betrothal ` mean is a promise to marry
     b) At a betrothal and wedding, the two people join hands. He gives her a ring to be worn on the right hand. It changes to the left at the wedding. They seal the contract with a kiss, and signatures.
 6. a)  The bride’s dress can be any fashionable or current color and cut.
     b) The intention to marry must be announced in the church three times on three consecutive Sundays or holy days, in the same parish. If it is not announced previous to the event it is considered clandestine, and illegal.
     c) The bride's maids help the bride to prepare, then they, the bride, the groom, the families, and all the guests assemble, and go in procession from the house or houses to the church. They all enter the church at once and stand through the ritual. Since the church is open, anyone can attend as long as there is room, although fairly strict social order is observed. Poorer neighbors, tenants, and passers by stand at the back.
               d) The dowry is an amount of money, goods, and property the bride brings to the marriage. It can also be called her marriage portion.
7.  wedding rings were not worn in Elizabethan times. Most people of the people just could not afford it.
